THERE GROWS THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Sweet Water News
Summer is in full swing at the Perry Ave Commons! College interns are onboard and summer youth programming has begun. This summer, we welcome interns from Alabama A & M University, Alcorn State University, Cornell University, the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, and Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. Sweet Water Foundation is also excited to have more than 20 high school students on board for summer youth programming in partnership with After School Matters, Chicago Architecture Foundation, and Chicago Public Schools' Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.

The Perry Ave Community Farm is flourishing. We are now harvesting produce, from collards, kale and turnip greens to mint, broccoli and more! Come out to the
Perry Ave Community Farmers' Market on Friday's from 11am to 3pm. Bring a bag and a friend!

PEOPLE

Humans of Sweet Water

Meet Mike Reynolds...a native of Chicago and retired Union Carpenter who has been with Sweet Water Foundation (SWF) for two years. Before joining SWF, Mike worked with Habitat for Humanity in Chicago. Although it took a couple of months of nagging by a colleague to visit the Perry Ave Commons, Mike was instantly inspired by the organization's work and has proudly been with Sweet Water Foundation ever since.
